Star of the Week!
STAR of the Week
Each week the grown-ups choose a member of our class to be star of the week and they get a special certificate in celebration assembly. To be a star of the week you have to be spotted doing something extraordinarily fabulous. I wonder who will amaze us in this week?
All of Year 4! – We are so unbelievably proud of Year 4. They have been absolute superstars this half term, learning all their lines and working so hard to deliver a fantastic performance. Well done, you can be very proud of all of your hard work.
Robbie and Oliver – Robbie and Oliver have both been superstars during rehearsals this week. As well as wowing the audience with their performances, they have also really impressed the adults ‘behind the scenes’ by waiting patiently and singing clearly to help prompt children in other year groups. Well done you!
Charlie – Charlie’s manners are always impeccable and he goes above and beyond to help his classmates. He has regularly been getting up to gold (and ‘super-gold’!) and we have been particularly impressed with the way he has pushed himself and stepped out of his comfort zone to perform his role in the play.
Freya – Freya always sets a super example with her great behaviour. We have however been particularly impressed with her patience and listening skills during our play rehearsals this week. Well done you!
Millie P – Millie is always very caring and considerate towards other children. We have been particularly impressed with her Partner Teaching in Maths this week. Well done Millie, you can be very proud of yourself.
Sienna – Sienna has wowed us with her story writing this half term. She has thought carefully about including the ‘key ingredients’ to write a short story based on the traditional tale of The Elves and the Shoemaker. Well done you and keep up the brilliant writing!
Rowyn – Rowyn has really impressed us this week by setting a great example in class. He has been showing good sitting and listening when on the carpet and has been using the hand signals to show that he is ready to learn. Well done you!
Leo – Leo tried really hard during P.E this week and was super at the high jump. What really impressed us though was his team work as he cheered on the rest of the class and gave them support. Well done you!
Stanley – We were especially impressed with Stanley during our trip to Pershore Abbey on Monday. He wowed us all by really getting in role as a monk and showed his super listening skills which impressed the abbot. Keep up the hard work!
Megan – Megan has been doing some super Partner Teaching in Topic sessions this week. She particularly impressed us when applying her skills of negative numbers to solve problems involving temperature. Well done Megan, keep up the hard work!
Ed – Ed has impressed us all by trying really hard to work independently. He has focused on making the right choices and getting on straight away with his work. Well done Ed and keep up the hard work!
Millie S – Millie has amazed us with her poetry writing this half term. She has thought carefully about including the ‘key ingredients’ to write a narrative poem based on Pie Corbett’s Story Cage. Well done you and keep up the fantastic writing!
Cai – Cai has impressed us all by being a great role model this week. He has shown us his super listening skills as well as making sure he is one of the first in the ‘ready to learn’ position.
Eve – Eve has wowed us all by being a fantastic Phonics Partner this week, showing a thoughtful attitude towards her partner as well as taking on board their ideas. Well done you!
Milly M – Milly has been a real reading champion recently! What has particularly impressed us is that she has been using what she has read to magpie key ideas, making her own writing even better. Well done and keep up the hard work!
Oliver – Oliver has amazed us with his writing in Phonics. He has written a super chapter set in Victorian Britain, carefully considering how to apply the key skills that we learnt in Pie Corbett fiction. Well done Oliver!
Morgan – Morgan has amazed us with his persuasive writing. He has thought carefully about including the ‘key ingredients’ to write a super piece advertising ‘Morgan’s Jurassic Journey’!
Farah – Farah has been doing some super Partner Teaching in Maths this week. In fact, she always impresses us with her helpful attitude and determination with her work, well done you- keep up the great work!
Ryan – Ryan has wowed us this week by setting such a great example in class. He has been showing great sitting and listening when on the carpet and has been using the hand signals to show that he is ready to learn. Well done you!
Millie P – Millie has been a superstar in maths recently, always concentrating and setting herself a challenge. She is always very helpful and this is reflected in her great partner work! Keep up the hard work.
Connie – Connie always impresses us with her conscientious attitude. She has tried extremely hard in Pie Corbett this week, acting as an ‘expert’ when learning the actions to our new text. Well done Connie!
Hermione – Hermione has impressed us all by being a fantastic Maths Partner this week, showing a thoughtful and caring attitude towards her partner. Well done you. Keep up the hard work!
Spring Term 2016
Robbie – Robbie has impressed us with his conscientious attitude, helping to tidy up the classroom without being asked and taking responsibility for his belongings. Well done Robbie!
Charlie – Charlie always impresses us with his thoughtful and caring nature. He make sure he puts others first and has been a great partner in Maths this week. Well done Charlie, keep up the great work.
Sasha – Sasha has really tried hard with her spellings, making sure she is practising regularly at home as well as in school. She has also really impressed us by checking through her writing once she has finished to correct any mistakes. Well done you!
James – James has tried really hard with his writing this week in Year 4. He has shared his ideas during group discussions and has written a super poppy poem. Well done you!
Stanley – Stanley has impressed us all by trying really hard to stay focused and make the right decisions. He has made it up to gold 3 times this week for his super listening! Well done Stanley, keep up the hard work.
Ed – Ed has amazed us with his instruction writing. He has thought carefully about including the ‘key ingredients’ to write a super revolting recipe!
Jayden – Jayden has wowed us all with his reading this half term and has been reading regularly at home too. He is flying up our reading challenge chart- well done you!
Leo – Leo was really engaged when boxing up a set of instructions. He really took his time and came up with some super top tips- well done Leo!
Freya – Freya has wowed us all by being a brilliant talk partner in Maths. She has really helped Tayor get to grips with Maths Makes Sense. Well done you!
Taylor – Taylor has settled into Cherry Orchard really well. We have enjoyed having you in our class Taylor!
Ed, Katie, Leo, Jayden, Chloe-Marie – BFG table tried really hard with their poetry writing this week. They worked well as a group, listening to each other’s ideas to produce a brilliant poem about the Earth. Well done you!
Shaun – Shaun has impressed us all by being a great role model. He has shown us his super listening skills as well as helping other children and the adults in Year 4.
Lacey – Lacey has really persevered with Year 4 Maths, putting 100% effort in even when things are a bit tricky! Well done Lacey.
2015- Autumn Term
Freya – Freya really impressed the adults behind the scenes of the school play last week. She waited patiently and helped the younger children with where they needed to be. Well done!
Ciaran – Ciaran has been working hard over the last few weeks to improve his listening skills. He is now listening carefully and remembers to put his hand up. Keep up the hard work!
Teya – Teya has worked so hard over the last few weeks in Maths. It is wonderful to see her enjoying learning and applying lots of new skills. Well done you!
Madison – Madison has been nominated by her maths partner for her fantastic partner teaching. We are always very impressed with Madison’s helpful attitude, well done you!
Lexi – Lexi has focused on editing her work once she has finished writing and will now ask to get a gel pen to make improvements. Well done Lexi, keep up the hard work!
Oliver – On Friday morning Oliver worked especially hard in Maths and Phonics with Mrs Duke. Well done you!
Noah – Noah was excellent in Maths and Phonics on Friday morning and really worked hard. Well done Noah!
Summer – Summer always puts 100% effort into her maths and phonics. In particular, she has been practising reading with the punctuation and has persevered with this. Well done you!
Sam – We are always so impressed with Sam’s excellent manners and he sets a great example throughout the school, including when he acts a as a lunchtime monitor. Well done Sam, keep up the hard work!
Chloe – Chloe has been a superstar in maths recently, always concentrating and setting herself a challenge. She is always very helpful and this is reflected in her great partner work! Well done Chloe.
Harriet – Harriet is always mature and polite. However, we were especially impressed during our trip to Pershore Abbey on Friday, where she wowed us all by really getting in role as a monk.
Oliver – Oliver has tried really hard in maths recently and has been writing all of his maths stories by himself. Well done Oliver, keep up the hard work!
George – George wrote some super instructions, explaining how to mummify a pharaoh! Well done you.
Isabella – Isabella has been a fantastic lunchtime monitor, always happy to help the adults and younger children in the hall. Keep up the great work!
Tyler – Tyler has been a ‘participation’ superstar in phonics, sharing his great ideas but also and importantly, listening carefully to others. Well done you!
Jamelia- Jamelia has tried really hard to stay focused in maths and has even been helping the other children with her great partner teaching.
Evie– Evie has worked so hard during phonics this last term and has wowed us with her brilliant ideas during partner talk. Well done.
Alex– Alex is always polite and sensible, setting a great example to the rest of the class and school. Well done Alex, keep up the great work!
2015- Summer Term
Reece – Reece has really impressed us with his super manners and is always keen to help others.
Madison – Madison has impressed us all by being a great talk partner in maths. Well done Madi!
Stephanie, Molly, Harvey, Noah, Ellis, Michael and Ruby – they impressed us all by helping the other year groups throughout the school. Well done you!
Lucas – Lucas has set a great example in class this week. He has been very helpful and caring towards his friends. Thank you Lucas!
Lilly – Lilly constantly impresses us all with her super manners. She is a great role model and friend to have in our class.
Ellis – Ellis has settled into Cherry Orchard wonderfully. We have really enjoyed having you in our class Ellis!
Molly – Molly has wowed us with her amazing story writing this week, well done you!
Edward – Edward has been very determined with his writing this week and really took his time to read through his work and make improvements.
Harry – Harry has tried extremely hard in phonics this week, learning actions to a poem and performing it to the whole class.
Ruby – Ruby has amazed us with her writing this week. She created a super information sheet for the London Eye.
Cain Groom – Cain has impressed us all with his brilliant manners and by always helping others. Well done you!
